I'm not sure how well the new pinion does on a ST, but it does very well on an OS. That extra tooth is designed to further reduce the engine's torgue load. You engine will have to rev a bit higher to achieve the same target headspeed RPM's than with the 20T. The more teeth the higher your engine will have to rev. Less teeth will reduce the engines RPM's, but increases it torque loading; making the engine work harder to achieve target RMP's. That should apply to any engine with that pinion installed.

Your engine will peak faster and rev higher. That should reduce the potential for the head to bog during aggressive pitch transitions, making your heli more forgiving in the case of poor collective management. If your engine is bogging, it most likely a tuning issue.

Give that 21T pinion a go, I think you'll see a noticeable improvement. It should work well on the ST. Let us know how it goes.

Morgan Fuels has been a leading manufacturer of R/C performance fuels for decades. Their blends and oils are extremely consistant batch to batch, year to year. When traveling the world to events I rarely have to change needle settings on my engines or ever worry about the quality of Cool Power fuels no matter where I'm flying.

I use exclusively Cool Power 30% High Performance Heli in all engines.

For a smooth running F3C mix I recommend a mix of Cool Power heli fuels.

SG Multi Viscosity mix:

For years I have been running in F3C competition this blend of Cool Power fuels to produce the desired results of power and ultra smooth running required for F3C competition. Many other pilots are now using this mix successfully.

1:1 mix ratio:

CP30% High Performance (pink color)
- 24% Low Viscosity synthetic oil package

CP12.5% Heli Fuel (purple color)
- 18% High Viscosity synthetic oil package

Alternate: CP 15% Heli Fuel (green)
-18% High Viscosity synthetic oil package

Mix in a 2US Gallon container or larger. 1US Gal of CP30% with CP12.5%. Shake lightly and let settle. Pour back into 1 Gal jugs if required.

The thin oil acts as a coolant and high flow lubricant. The thicker oil aids bearing life, and coats parts actually making the engine slightly quieter by reducing piston skirt slap.

The end result yeilds about 21% Nitro content and 21% multi-viscosity Oil.

1st off, that idle-up1 curve is wrong. You're using the governor so why limit it at 90%? The governor won't be able to open full throttle if it ever needs it. Reset idleup1 and idleup2 to 100-80-100 and just program different headspeeds in the governor lcd.

About the rest...

1. low needle is on mine just flush (slot is inline) with the carb. Not sure how many turns however that doesn't matter. Start the engine. Let it warm up for 30 seconds. Now pinch (or even unhook) the fuel line.

a) it dies imediately - lean
b) it starts reving up for like 3-8 seconds and dies - ok
c) it takes like 20 seconds to rev up and die - too rich.

What you want is b) and you shouldn't care if the screw is at 1 turn or 10 turn. What matters is what makes the engine happy.

2- Every pipe will slightly affect tuning. A hatori 521 might give other settings than a MP5 SB or an Outrage. Which one is the best... you need to do experiences or trust what other people say. I had very good results with the 522 and 521. Never tried a Outrage pipe.

3 and 4- no, just set middle point to be your present needle setting. Adjust your MGP mixture control to 115C or a little less (110-112).
Mine is at 116C and max temp in flight is 118C. This is with high quality 20% nitro (maybe equivalent to normal 25%. I would guess 110-115 is ideal for you. 115-120C is healthy for my standarts. More than that and engine life will start to be reduced.

Review of engine:

This is my new experiance in YS engine,
this engine run smooth on the first run,
still in break in process, Smooth ideling
needle valve - High needle at 2 turn out
-low needle at 1.5 turn
2nd tank break in close 3 click from 2 turn high needle temp at 140 farenhite
then 3 tank close another 3 click making it 1.75 turn out
thank now close anther 2 click from 1.75 turn low needle close 0.25 making it 1.25 turn out
temperature at this settting is at 170 farenhite

Glow Plug Use is OS8 as recomended from manual for 30% nitro
Nitro is Morgan Fuel - cool power 30% nitro LS 20% oil

soo far break in for 4 tanks gonna finish and change the plug after 12 tanks
and settle tune at 1.5 turn on high needle anda 1 turn on low needle as most ppl recomend on the forum plus this engine get more power at rich side of tuning..

It is volatility inflammable liquid, which is easy to inflame and make
explosive mixed gas with air. It has the possibility to explode by mixing of
Alkali, heating in sealed condition and shock.
・Harmful: Inhalation causes headaches, vomiting, dizziness and etc. Expose in vapor
for long time causes disorder of optic nerve, nerve center, respiratory
organ, kidney and liver. Repeated contact of liquid to skin causes stimulus,
dryness, scaly dermatitis and crack dermatitis.
・Contact eye: Wash eye with large amounts of water for more than 15 minutes and get
medical attention immediately.
・Contact skin: Remove contaminated cloth and shoes and wash the burned area with
large amounts of water or soap water. If pain is not relieved, get medical
attention.
・Inhalation: Immediately remove to fresh air place, keep warm and quiet and
getmedical attention.
・Ingestion: Drink large amounts of water to vomit and get medical attention. But if
patient lose the conscious, don’t take anything from mouth.
・Fire Fighting Procedure:
1. Shut off the combustion source to the origin of fire.
2. For early fire, use dry chemical, carbon dioxide, dried sand and etc.
3. For large-scale fire, use alcohol form. Stick water may expand the fire.
4. For surrounding fire, move the container to safety place. If it is impossible
to move out, cool down with sprinkle water.
5. When fire extinguishing, extinguish from the windward with protector.
6. Keep people out surrounding. Extinguisher: Dry chemical, carbon dioxide,
dried sand, alcohol foam.

in leeward. After stop the leak with sand and lead it to safety place, collect in

and wipe a stain with waste cloth completely
・ Handling:
1. Don’t bring the fire close. It is easy to inflame and its vapor makes
explosive mixed gas with air. Don’t evaporate.
2. The vapor from glow fuel is heaver than air and easy to stay. Keep
attention to ventilation and fire.
3. Keep in normal temperature and keep attention for mixing of water and
alien substance. Don’t mix with other petroleum products and chemicals.
4. It possibly explodes by mixing of alkali, heating in sealed condition and
shock. Keep attention for mixing of alkali and heating and keep out the
shock.
5. Wear electric conductive cloth and shoes.
6. Keep attention not to contact the liquid to skin and use protection globe.
In the case of possibly contacting to the eye, use protection glass.
7. In the case of possibly inhalation of vapor, use respirator.
8. Use pomp on taking out from container. Don’t suck up with mouth using
straw. Ingestion causes death.
9. Keep the container sealed.
10. After handling, wash hands and eyes enough. Remove contaminated
cloth.
11. When handling large amounts of fuel more than specified quantity,
handle in regal factory, warehouse and agency.
・Storage: 1. Avoid direct ray of the sun and keep in well-ventilated cool place.
2. Storage with indication of hazardous.
3. Avoid heat, spark, flame and static electricity.

eyesight.Lethal dose is less than 1g/kg by oral ingestion or 100-250ml by
drinking.Methanol effects on mainly nerves, especially optic nerve and
retina. The first sign is the dim sight, light oversensitive, which causes
headaches,dizziness, tinnitus, nausea, vomiting, stomachache, fatigue and
etc.Eyesight disorder sometime is temporary, but returns and advances to
the loss of eyesight. Heavy exposure causes loss consciousness, death
through lethargic sleep. It is difficult to excrete, which causes 2 or 4 days
lethargic sleep.Vapor exposure of methanol causes death within 1-2 hours on
50,000ppm density.
・Chronic toxicity: Repeated exposure of methanol vapor more than 200ppm causes
disorder of optic nerve or polyneuritis. The case of optic nerve is possibly loss
eyesight by disorder of visual field, headache, loss of central visual. The case
of central nerve is headache, malicious intent, dizziness, and loss
conscious.Methanol poisoning causes metabolic acidosis and heavy poisoning
causes disorder of the kidney and the liver.If the vapor density is less than
200ppm,there are rare poisoning. Stay in 1000ppm in 1 hour causes
headache eye stimulus and fatigue.

Happy New Year, this is what RC Heli Magazine has said, this MAG become one of my favorite Magezine ever.

I first started into this hobby last year and if am not mistaken it was in December.

My first Bird are the HBK2(Honey Bee King 2), this bird has tought me alot, on how extreme this hobby are, and i have never stop of learning on understanding how actually this machine work.

In here, i would like to say, this hobby are really fun hobby, unlike anyother hobby, ppl are helping each other with happiness and laughther, especially ppl who cant take any other advises (no name mention) mun paham bisai.

The last word from this new post is making the bird to fly again make alot of effort.

Teaching my DUMB THUMB is another thing, BRAIN FREEZE is Something, Orientiation is EVERYTHING. Soo Get the COLLECTIVE mangement right up to the POWER TO WEIGHT RATIO as what ur thum can DO.

To keep your brushless motor operating at maximum performance, it is important that the bearings in your motor be properly maintained. This is especially true of helicopter motors that often spin in excess of 45,000 RPM. In an average flight, the motor in a 450 size helicopter spins around almost a quarter million times! Without proper lubrication, the balls in the bearings can wear out quickly, leading to premature failure.

We have put together a motor bearing lubrication kit to help extend the life of the bearings in your Scorpion brushless motor. This kit contains a 25cc bottle of bearing lubricant and two needle point applicator nozzles. One nozzle is 1" long, and will work with the 22mm and 30mm motors, and the other nozzle is 1.5" long to use with 40mm and larger motors.

The oil included in the kit is a special product that actually bonds to the metal parts, and resists being thrown out by the high speed and centrifugal forces inside the bearings. A small drop placed on each bearing about once every 10 flights is enough to maintain proper lubrication to insure the longest possible life for your motor bearings.

Oh well for all the RC hobbiest it is the most frustrating moment "BAD WEATHER",

Since Yesterday Morning i did Plan to Fly My Heli. Early in the morning but the weather dosen't seem good to fly, where the rain was start pouring since 12 mid night, then i plan to fly in the afternoon but no changes in weather, I Switch on my computer and start on the simulator till i got sleepy, then thank god i woke hope with lots of hopes to fly in the morning the next day .....

But Guess what.... its still raining, luckily it Jerry Garage sale time, oh thanks to him to spare me His Spektrum Reciever AR7000 and AR6200 damn good for the value of money to get cheap stuff from garage sale. Then i went back home and sleep to wait for the afternoon weather to be fine, after i woke up around 1715Hr, there is still drizzles out there. Its has been raining for 48Hrs now. Then now the time is 2115Hrs am typing at the moment writing about the weather and checking on internet weather forecast it shows patches of cloud saying that the weather wont be fine for this 48hrs.

But thank to Allah the fun fly has been done a week ago, which from the review by Senior Brunei RC flyer, said "this is the most successful moment of fun fly in Brunei ever". Hopefully after all the arrangement of the club to be publish in the near future we will make a full announcement about it. I my self will keep this blog Update through time.

I call my Cx450 as Hj Bugar, actually its a copter X, where this heli being modified with some trex component to satisfied my flying criteria. In which i ll explain more about him more later on. The head of CX is made of cnc metal, but what do u expect of copy item frm China it bend easily after crashes, therefore frusturation came, soo if u guy plan to upgrade replace the main head with align V2 head, onemore thing that need to considre is change the swahplate due to slop after the milage of rotation has gone too far hehehe:)
In here am using hitec HG5000 with hs5083 servo, which i feel happy with the performance, but i sstill impress with futaba 401 with 9257. For my next project on my legendary pigeon m450 upgrade.
For a better gyro response, i install a carbon fiber tail blade, with trex v2 tail pith slider and control system.
Am using Spectrum Dx7 Tx with AR7000 RX, overall performance am installing 3500kv 14T Walkera BLS, with 30A esc from himodel, fueling with electric Kong Power lipo for better performance, achivement of hj bugar, biginner 3D at high altitude only. Future intend 50 Class heli for more stable flight and 3D Trex600 with GY611. Inspired heli RC pilot Jufrin, G Pyan, Erwan Said, Manaf, Nizam and Irwan the pro align NSP 600.
